Essure Doctors Mislead Women To Believe The Procedure Is Non Surgical

Friday, August 9, 2019 - Thousands of women are electing to have the Essure birth control device removed every day when the pain becomes unbearable or as a preventative measure in anticipation that Essure will someday fail. It is inconceivable that anyone would agree to the Essure birth control device knowing that the sharp metal device would be inside of them permanently and that to remove the device would surely result in having to undergo major surgery like tubal ligation or hysterectomy and that multiple surgeries spanning many years could be required. All too often tugging on the Essure device will cause it to stretch like a broken Slinky toy and break off into pieces that cannot be located or retrieved. When this happens a woman is sentenced to a lifetime of the same pain, hair loss, lethargy, cramping and bleeding that led them to try and have the device removed. Women may be generally better off having the entire area of the Fallopian tubes that are attached to Essure removed and the ends tied, in other words, a type of tubal ligation called salpingectomy or cornual resection according to DrugWatch.com, in order to avoid the potential of fracturing the device and leaving pieces of it behind to be surgically removed from other parts of the body at a later date.
