Essure Removal Presents Challanges and Difficulties

Some doctors are choosing to specialize in Essure Birth Control Device removal to fill the need of those suffering from the device

Thursday, June 28, 2018 - The Essure Birth Control Device was originally marketed as a simple, effective and "temporary" form of birth control. Patients were advised that Essure could be removed as easily as it was inserted when the time came that a woman wanted to have children. It was not until recently that Essure patients were told that Essure was a "permanent" form of birth control and that their pain and suffering from the device would be the main reason to want to have it removed. In either case, women seeking Essure removal are told that a partial hysterectomy may be required at a minimum to remove Essure and sometimes a woman's entire reproductive system must be removed. Other times the Essure coil breaks into pieces during its removal and some pieces are left behind in the body. Woman need to seek a physician that is qualified and experienced with Essure removal and also willing to actually do it. Making Essure removal matters worse, when a woman tells the physician that implanted the Essure device that they are experiencing side effects such as severe bleeding, cramping, and pain, they are often met with disbelief and ridicule.

Other Essure removal patients have experienced a return to having a normal period, elimination of cramping, and a general lifting of feeling as if they were in a fog all of the time.
